NEW YORK, N.Y. - It was a new day for Henrik Lundqvist, and the Rangers were looking forward rather than backwards. New York coach Alain Vigneault was anything but worried about his star goalie Wednesday, just hours after giving him the hook at 8:58 of the second period in the wake of four goals on 18 shots in what turned into a 7-4 loss to the Canadiens in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final at the Bell Centre. "I just gave him a quick pat after the game, but Henrik doesnt need to hear anything from me," Vigneault said at a morning availability in Montreal before returning to New York. "Hes a veteran player. One of the best in his area, and Im sure hes going to be focused and ready for the next game." Vigneault, whose team rallied from 4-1 down to tie it at 4-4 before Montreal pulled away, discouraged further questions on the issue. "Dont worry about it. Its over with. Move on," he said when asked if he had ever put a goalie back in after pulling him. Game 6 goes Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. The Rangers lead Montreal three games to two. Lundqvist was not made available on the off-day. But those teammates who did meet the media — all three alternate captains —were equally unconcerned about their goalie. Forward Brad Richards said he expects Lundqvist to bounce back from the Game 5 letdown. "I think you guys all see how competitive he is, and thats not going to sit well," he said. "Even when he plays good, hes focused. I would imagine were going to see one of his better performances, especially going back to his crowd and wanting to rebound from that. Its not something well have to worry about. We always know hell regroup." Added defenceman Marc Staal: "Yeah, hell be fine. Its the last concern of anyone on our team." Lundqvist came into Game 5 with a .931 save percentage in the playoffs. That was reduced to .926 Tuesday night. Lundqvists play was prominent in the New York tabloids. "King Sized Loss," was the New York Post back-page headline. "Yank Lundqvist," was the Daily News headline. Defenceman Dan Girardi said none of the Rangers liked seeing Lundqvist exit early. "Obviously, you dont want to see that in any game, let alone a playoff game," he said. "We didnt give him too much help, and obviously A.V. (Alain Vigneault) felt that was the right move just to get him out of the game. We didnt feel great about that, but we couldnt just sit there and mope around about it. "We had to do something about it. We did. We came back and tied it." Vans Old Skool For Sale Cheap . Pakistans painful memories of the 2010 tour of England, which resulted in humiliation on many fronts was partially erased by the Test whitewash of England in the UAE four years ago and further eased by victory in the autumn series last year. But Pakistan know that a determined England lies in wait to avenge those defeats. Sri Lanka are the current recipients of Englands home-turf power - James Anderson and Stuart Broad mauling the visitors at will. James Anderson has taken 18 wickets over the first two Tests against Sri Lanka this summer Its the most serious test of Pakistans credentials as a Test playing nation and an opportunity to prove to the world that their successes in the UAE are not simply a product of local conditions alone. In preparation, recently the Pakistan squad have been running around an army boot camp in Abbottabad, indulging in military-style endurance training usually reserved for men in combat clothing and camouflaged faces.News relating to failures of many players to keep pace with their military fitness instructors made interesting headlines in local and international papers, especially given that mental images of unfit cricketers wilting under pressure would seem a quintessentially Pakistani issue. Amir receives UK visa Pakistan seamer free to travel to England The fitness camp was met with a few hearty objections by former Pakistan players including Javed Miandad who described it as a waste of time and potentially even dangerous, but not for the modern-thinking ways of the current Pakistan management.Former Pakistani great Inzamam-ul-Haq was lured back as Chief Selector by the Pakistan Cricket Board, and though it might surprise some in the English camp, under Inzamams watchful gaze, a new and more determined Pakistan team is literally taking shape. The appointment, coupled with the expertise of Pakistans new Head Coach, Mickey Arthur, could bring untold benefits and Inzi has wasted no time in putting together a list of initial steps and requirements. Former South Africa and AAustralia head coach Mickey Arthur has recently joined the Pakistan set up Perhaps recalling the hardships of previous Pakistan players to English conditions, hes forced the PCB to organize a two-week preparatory camp for the squad in Hampshire.ddddddddddddInzamam also knows about the frailties of the Pakistan batsmen against the moving ball in English conditions. The Duke cricket ball used by England for home series is a well-known irritant for visiting teams, Australia falling prey last year and Sri Lankas current batting collapses a further reminder of what Pakistan could face in a few weeks.Pakistan are already using the Duke ball in practice sessions in Lahore and the PCB has ordered the creation of green top wickets in Lahore in order to create conditions as close to those which could be encountered in England. Pakistan have been preparing with Duke Balls ahead of their trip to England The unfortunate historical truth remains that few Pakistan tours of England have been short of controversy, with the spot-fixing scandal of the summer of 2010 being the last and most notorious example.Whilst a recurrence of another controversy due to unforeseen circumstance can never be discounted, it would appear that Inzamam has taken ample steps to ensure that the team remains free of any potential hotspots. Mohammad Amir played during Pakistans last tour of England in 2010 before serving a five-year spot-fixing ban His bold decision to leave out Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal from the tour on disciplinary grounds can only be applauded, as can his efforts to make sure Mohammad Amir remains focused on cricket as he makes his much talked-about return to Test cricket in the same country where he last played a Test before being banned for five years. If the pundits are to be believed, the odds of Pakistan escaping unblemished from the upcoming tour of England are pretty grim but unlike past visits to England, this Pakistan squad and its management seem determined to give a good account of themselves.Watch Pakistans tour of England live on Sky Sports, starting with the first Test at Lords from Thursday, July 14.
